Great turnout: three teams to smooth the Haight

Ride Review: what makes a hazard?

The Haight will be smoother and safer after the city repairs the 50+ potholes the SF Bike Coalition's Good Roads volunteers found and reported Saturday morning. The street defects were easier to find than sunshine for the 12 volunteers who met at the base of the McKinley Monument. The record turnout split into three teams to cover much of the Haight, the Panhandle, entry roads into Golden Gate Park, Arguello and Lake streets. After two hours everyone was ready for a break and most grabbed some lunch at Cafe du Soleil.

The next Good Roads ride is scheduled for Saturday, October 2nd. Check the SFBC site for more info. But don't wait until then if you spot a street hazard. Call 311 or report the problem online. Be ready to give the street, the block (between which streets), and an address if possible.
