BIKE NOPA -- Official Blog of the Day for August 7, 2009. Takes me by surprise. Disclosure: this is my first blog, just started 2 months ago. I knew nothing about Blog of the Day.
I do check statcounter.com to see how many visitors are stopping by here. Pretty respectable numbers with little promo: 20 to 40 first-timers a day. And then this afternoon: 1,908 visitors. What's that about? One of today's comments alerted me to the official designation. So, I'm honored that Blogger finds BIKE NOPA notable for some unspecified reason. The cool brown print? Perhaps the graphic? Pics of exotic NOPAland?
I'm in good company, right there with Mad Boastings of a Cheapskate Mom from July 3. Her post today tosses this pearl of wisdom: "Never...I repeat NEVER use fancy soaps with "crushed coconut shell" to wash your nether regions... ." Who knew?
What do I know of these 1908 -- err, 2027 now -- visitors? I have a diverse following, at least for today, at least for one time. They hail from Porto Velho, Brazil; Agartala, India; Batam, Indonesia; Zionsville, Indiana; and Bursa, Turkey; and dozens of places in between. Safe bet these bloggers never before heard of the North Panhandle neighborhood. Now 14 of them are new followers of BIKE NOPA. Welcome All! And NOPA folks: we've got a global responsibility now.
