Personally I would not feel safer biking on Masonic with sharrows added right now, but perhaps when the new striping goes down as part of the interim measures.Michael Helquisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00790571330038061382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7569046838598986140.post-6817803123768194222011-02-22T10:38:12.428-08:002011-02-22T10:38:12.428-08:00Any news about painting sharrows until the new bik...Any news about painting sharrows until the new bike lanes are built on Masonic?Mike's Urban Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04193977493377293087noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7569046838598986140.post-72771116137921102722011-02-17T10:06:10.203-08:002011-02-17T10:06:10.203-08:00from "a masonic neighbor" via email:
Wh...from "a masonic neighbor" via email:

When I woke up in my house on Masonic this morning, I couldn't hear the normal roar of traffic that comes from the 3 lanes of speeding traffic.

It turns out that construction workers were installing a vent atop the Luckys at fulton, reducing the morning traffic to one lane in each direction between mcallister and hayes. The traffic was moving at 25 MPH, when the light was red, I could easily cross masonic to get to the bus stop without worrying about a reckless driver, and even with a large crane, it was clearly more peaceful and pleasant than it is on a normal day.

For those folks worried about the traffic calming in the boulevard option, I hope you had a chance to see masonic this morning. It was, for at least one day, a street I was happy to live on.Michael Helquisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00790571330038061382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7569046838598986140.post-74819800872969009732011-02-17T07:55:48.774-08:002011-02-17T07:55:48.774-08:00Fantastic news!
